Shutdown Your Computer Automatically

Hey everyone, heres a fun little feature I think you might want to know. How to automatically schedule Windows XP to shutdown.

Open Control Panel > Schedule Task > Add New Task > Next > click "Browse" > Change the location to C: Drive > Windows (folder) > System 32 (folder) > look for the file "Shutdown.exe" > click "Open" > and select when you would like to perform the task > Start Time > Perform this task > Next > Apply password if asked and finish.

I know, lots of procedures, but its a handy little task if you have something you are downloading and you need to shutdown your PC after a given period of time.

here\’s my take on the tipyou could also have it countdown to shutdown even with a ms-blaster like message to bootstart>run>shutdown -f -s -t 3780 -c "this is the message"-f force programs to close-s shutdown-t time in seconds-c "message to display" -max 127 charectersthere\’s flags for:-r restart instead-a cancel shutdown countdown (abort)-m \\\\remot computer name (on a network) start with this flag and the computer name to do shutdown/restart/abort (LAN i think only)-l log off-i just display the Shutdown/restart/hiberate dialog (same as start>turn off computer)-d is really cool.. the message box that comes up can show error codes but you have to define them first in the registry :/
