What has happened so far? Longhorn Summed Up

The Spoke has a nice little summary of what is probably going on with Longhorn so far and what is to come in 2005.

Well, what’s happened recently with Longhorn? Well apart from 4074 and 4083, hardly any leaks. But we’ve learnt that Longhorn is now on 5xxx builds and that they switched codebases to Windows Server 2003 SP1. From what I’ve heard, there isn’t much of the Aero, Avalon and the nice UIs which we all associate Longhorn with. Instead, Luna. What good is there then? A stable codebase and from what I was told, the new installation for Longhorn is very fast.

Interesting points for me of course is:
Faster installation
Stable code base
Code-base switched to Server 2003
