I just saw this on Binks website, the second beta of Office Small Business Accounting 2006 is now available to MSDN Subscribers.
This update to the Editions of Microsoft Office, adds accounting tools to the worlds most popular productivity. Microsoft is aiming straight at competitors QuickBooks and Peach Tree. Should be interesting to see how this turns out.
I have seen a few screenshots of the product, it uses combination of the familiar Office 2003 interface with a hint of QuickBooks. Microsoft has always tried to incorporate such features, I remember the Small Business Manager tools that were available in Office 97 SMB and Office 2000 Editions. Microsoft discontinued the offering in Office XP and 2003, I guess this is their chance to make a come back.
